Dr Timo Rahnel
Dr Timo Rahnel is an orthopaedist.
Dr Rahnel graduated from the University of Tartu Faculty of Medicine in 2009 and completed his residency in traumatology-orthopaedics in 2015. Dr Rahnel underwent his professional training in various centres in Estonia and in Finland.
Since 2013, he has been working as a physician for Estonia’s U21 football team. He is a board member of the AOTrauma Estonia and a member of ESSKA (the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy).
Dr Rahnel regularly participates in international training courses. With a scholarship from the European Federation of Orthopaedic Sports Traumatology (EFOST), he participated in a 2-week practical course in various centres in Poland, Germany and Italy in 2015 and a 3-month knee and shoulder surgery refresher training course at Tampere University Hospital in 2019.
In addition to his daily clinical work ranging from standard traumatology-orthopaedics to arthroscopic and endoprosthetic surgeries, Dr Rahnel carries out research projects.
His active membership in professional societies and his work in the Department of Orthopaedics at Tartu University Hospital and North Estonia Medical Centre has given him experience that enables him to provide professional training for his colleagues.
