Dr Gunnar Männik
Sports medicine doctor
Dr Gunnar Männik graduated from the Faculty of Exercise and Sport Sciences of the University of Tartu in 1982 and obtained a degree in sports medicine from the University of Tartu Faculty of Medicine in 1994.
In 1989, he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D) in training physiology.
Dr Männik worked as a sports medicine doctor for the Estonian national football team in 1995.
From 1995 to 2007, Dr Männik worked as a doctor for the football club FC Flora.
Since 1999, Dr Männik has been working with orthopaedic outpatients in West Tallinn Central Hospital.
From 2000 to 2002, he completed a course in manual medicine for the treatment of spinal conditions.
In the period from 2000 to 2002, he was a member of the UEFA Medical Committee, giving lectures on football sports medicine in various European countries.
Since 2011, he has been giving lectures on sports medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport at Tallinn University.
